Fierté Canada Pride (FCP)

Published purpose

Through this 38-month initiative, Fierté Canada Pride (FCP) will enhance its organizational capacity as a national network organization. FCP will implement a shared leadership model rooted in consensus-based decision-making reflecting FCP’s commitment to equity, inclusion, and collective responsibility, and ensuring that all team members have a voice in shaping the organization’s direction. Through this project, FCP is positioned to strengthen its foundations and work towards self-sustainability, while contributing to the viability of the 2SLGBTQIA+ sector across Canada, promoting equality, and setting an example for other organizations. Key areas of capacity-building, include: strategic planning, diversifying funding streams, expanding internal policies, developing a national communications plan and strengthening partnerships. In addition, all templates, tools, and resources developed through this initiative will be documented and shared with FCP’s membership to build capacity across the 2SLGBTQIA+ sector in Canada. This work supports the long-term sustainability of both FCP and the broader movement. With the supplemental funds and extension provided in early 2026, Fierté Canada Pride will implement a national earned-revenue initiative to strengthen financial sustainability, complete governance modernization to reflect its transition to a working board structure, increase national stakeholder engagement to expand partnerships and funding pathways, and formalize grant-making best practices as FCP continues to grow as a national granting organization. Through these activities, FCP will strengthen the long-term viability and institutional capacity of Pride organizations across Canada and further advance gender equality.
