Published purpose

Through this 36-month project, Rainbow Refugee Association of Nova Scotia (RRANS) will build stronger capacity of 2SLGTBQI+ community organizations and networks to advance 2SLGTBQI+ equality. The project will address the need for LGBTQI+ newcomer involvement and leadership with respect to planning, development of policies, and programming, which will enable RRANS to become more representative of its community. This will be achieved by strengthening organizational governance, human resources and leadership policies, as well as establishing a mentorship structure. With the supplemental funds and extension provided in early 2026, the Rainbow Refugee Association of Nova Scotia (RRANS) will develop and implement a multi-year fund development strategy, strengthen donor stewardship and grant management systems, and formalize governance and leadership continuity protocols. Through these activities, RRANS will further advance Gender Equality by strengthening its organizational capacity to sustainably manage resources, secure funding from multiple sources, improve governance effectiveness, and ensure leadership continuity in support of 2SLGBTQIA+ newcomers in the region.
