Alphabet Sports Collective

Published purpose

Through this 36-month project, Alphabet Sports Collective will build stronger capacity of 2SLGTBQI+ community organizations and networks to advance 2SLGBTQI+ equality. It will address the need to create safer spaces and reduce barriers for 2SLGTBQI+ people in hockey communities. The project will include key capacity building activities, such as the creation and implementation of a new governance structure, as well as a diversified funding model strategy and money management infrastructure, and the development and implementation of a strategic plan, theory of change and impact strategy. With the supplemental funds and extension provided in early 2026, Alphabet Sports Collective will develop the infrastructure for a community member and ambassador program, create an engagement and advocacy strategy, and develop the infrastructure for leadership opportunities within the 2SLGTBQI+ hockey sphere to be better promoted and amplified. Through this, they will further advance Gender Equality.
