Published purpose
Through this 33-month systemic change project, the Inter-Cultural Association of Greater Victoria will help advance women’s economic security and prosperity through systemic change. Specifically, the project will address systemic barriers within the androcentric structures of settlement and integration services offered by settlement agencies throughout British Columbia by offering a train-the-trainer program whereby immigrant, newcomer and refugee (INR) men adopt positive masculinity practices and reduce the presence of harmful gender stereotypes that inhibit INR women from participating in family unit decision-making roles. An external evaluator will measure and assess the impact of the systemic change project. Supplemental funding in February 2026 will be used to produce high-quality video content to enhance the project curriculum.
