Published purpose

Through this 31-month project, Fire Service Women BC Society (FSWBC) will build its capacity to advance gender equality. It will address the gaps in leadership opportunities and supports for the advancement of women in the fire services field. The project will include the development of a strategic plan and financial sustainability framework, strengthening of the organization's governance capacity, and updating of governing bylaws and policy guidebook to support the organization's ability address the unique needs of women in fire services With the supplemental funds and extension provided in early 2026, FSWBC will implement a professional development program, validate and adjust the strategic plan, and build team resiliency. Through this they will further advance the capacity of the organization to support women in the fire services in BC and Gender Equality.
