Published purpose

Through this 31-month project, Sagesse Domestic Violence Prevention Society will build its capacity to advance gender equality. It will address creating a culture of belonging by focusing on diversity, equity and inclusion within their organizational structures, processes and systems. The project will include the creation and implementation of a developmental and responsive organizational roadmap to curate belonging that respects their values and innovative and developmental culture and will build the skills and capacity of BIPOC staff and volunteers as well as board members leadership and accountability to support the organization’s goals. With the supplemental funds and 12-month extension provided in early 2026, Sagesse will establish and operationalize a cross-organizational Belonging Committee, implement a volunteer-specific belonging roadmap with board and frontline service providers, and integrate belonging, equity, and organizational culture into all HR practices and procedures. Through this, Sagesse will further advance gender equality by strengthening inclusive organizational structures, deepening volunteer and staff engagement, and embedding equitable practices across all levels of the organization.
