Published purpose

Through this 31-month project, Western Manitoba Regional Women’s Resource Centre, Inc. will build its capacity to advance gender equality by addressing the fundamental human rights of women and girls experiencing gender-based violence in Southwestern Manitoba. Key activities include the recruitment of members and collaboration with partners in rural communities and outlying areas to identify gaps and barriers, increasing knowledge sharing, improving programs and services, creating new resource materials and information packages for distribution, training staff and board members, and finally researching and developing an advocacy framework and delivering a conference to share the findings. With the Supplemental funds and extension provided in early 2026, the Western Manitoba Women’s Resource Centre Inc. will plan and implement a new 5-year strategic plan, and develop a rural expansion strategy, while strengthening their internal systems. Through these key activities, they will improve service delivery efforts in both Brandon and rural Western Manitoba and further advance Gender Equality.
