Published purpose

Through this 31-month project, the Downtown Eastside Women’s Center (DEWC) will build its capacity to advance gender equality. It will address technology-based risks, gaps, and barriers to growth. The project will include a technology asset audit, a needs assessment, research into technology-based solutions for organizational pain points, a prioritized plan for implementation, staff training, and evaluation. With the supplemental funds and extension provided in early 2026, the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre (DEWC) will develop IT policies and procedures on how to handle cybersecurity threats and develop data collection policies including how to protect data being collected. Through this they will further advance Gender Equality.
