Published purpose

Through this 26-month project, Lean In Canada will build its capacity to advance gender equality in Canada by creating and implementing a scalable, sustainable national infrastructure and operating model. The project will be supported by evidence driven strategies undertaken in collaboration with Quilin, a women-owned and led consultancy specializing in the art and science of working better. This project will be undertaken in phases, applying a ‘GBA Plus’ lens and an adaptive approach. This agile methodology will promote usability and scalability and will position Lean In Canada to affect systemic change that will increase women’s economic security and prosperity across Canada. With the supplemental funds and extension provided in early 2026, Lean In Canada will further their Environmental Scan to deepen understanding of key community needs through targeted focus groups and reporting. The organization will also operationalize and refine its Theory of Change and Evaluation Framework, integrating monitoring tools, data collection, and reporting mechanisms to track progress and inform its operational planning. In parallel, Lean In Canada will stress-test and implement elements of its Sponsorship and Talent Strategies through training, accessible toolkits, and strengthened systems that support volunteer leadership, organizational capacity, and knowledge sharing. Through these activities, Lean In Canada will strengthen the usability and scalability of its strategies, build leadership capacity within its volunteer network, and further advance gender equality.
