Nightwood Theatre

Published purpose

Through this 32-month project, Nightwood Theatre will build its capacity to advance gender equality. The project will address industry-specific needs in their staff and organization to ensure they are well-positioned to support Feminist theatre in the GTA. The project will develop stronger leadership in its executive and department-specific trainings across the organization. Knowledge and skills on IT, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), and communications will be built in all staff, and a stronger organizational culture developed. Lastly, the organization will build their skills and resources to support their ongoing financial sustainability. Through the process, the organization will develop training resources so that the knowledge is maintained within the organization and future employees benefit as well. With the Supplemental funds and extension provided in early 2026, Nightwood Theatre will A) Strengthen External Partnerships and Sector Networks; and B) Strengthen Board Governance Structures and Practices. Through this they will further advance Gender Equality.
