Published purpose

Through this 32-month project, YWCA Halifax will build its capacity to advance gender equality. It will address the need for up-to-date and transformative human resource policies and procedures that are reflective of the YWCA's commitment to equity and inclusion. The project will include jurisdictional scans, legislative reviews, staff interviews and surveys, and a deep dive into current policies and procedures. The outcome will be new HR policies and practices that meet the needs of the organization and its people. With the supplemental funds and extension provided in early 2026, YWCA Halifax will strengthen its organizational capacity by accompanying staff and management in the implementation of the recently updated HR policies and Code of Conduct, by creating a centralized space to access policies and forms, by improving volunteer and donor data management, by providing strategic input on annual fundraising and community engagement, by building and expanding relationships to diversify funding, and by strengthening communications and storytelling. Through this they will further advance Gender Equality.
