Published purpose
Through this 32-month project, Immigrant Women’s Information Network will build its organizational capacity to advance gender equality. It will address the need for a coordinated, culturally sensitive and community-driven approach to address gender-based discrimination and violence in the South Asian community. The project will include the creation of a strategic plan, the implementation of a governance audit, a needs assessment to identify culturally specific tools and resources, and continuous learning and networking activities to increase sectoral capacity. With the Supplemental funds and extension provided in early 2026, the Immigrant Women’s Information Network will establish and operationalize the South Asian Canadians for Gender Equality (SAGE) Network and strengthen organizational governance and improve board decision-making. Through this they will further advance Gender Equality.
