Tahiuqtiit Womans Society

Published purpose

Through this 32-month project, Tahiuqtiit Womans Society will build its capacity to advance gender equality. It will address the organization’s need to strengthen its infrastructure and outreach capacity to fulfill their mandate to support the equality of Inuit∕Inuvialuit women in the Nunakput region, which is comprised of four communities, Paulatuk, Sachs Harbour, Tuktoyaktuk and Ulukhaktok. The project will include governance training for the Board of Directors, development of evaluation tools, diversification of revenue strategies, improving social media presence, and strategic planning. This project will ensure Inuit∕Inuvialuit women in the Nunakput region move toward greater political, social, and economic equality. With the Supplemental funds and extension provided in early 2026, the Tahuiqtiit Womans Society will strengthen internal financial and technological systems and expand community engagement to ensure sustainable, accountable advancement of gender equality for Inuit women and LGBTQ+ communities at Tahuiqtiit Womans Society. Through this they will further advance Gender Equality.
