Published purpose

Through this 33-month project, Action ontarienne contre la violence faite aux femmes will build its capacity and that of its member organizations to advance gender equality. It will address the need to ensure the sustainability of services so that Francophone women and non-binary people in Ontario can obtain quality services in French. The project will include: 1- the implementation of fund diversification strategies to secure additional funding; 2- the implementation of a peer support and workplace wellness system to assist the integration of new employees and limit the risk of burnout; 3- the creation of a development plan for a provincial psychotherapy program for service users and workers in the sector; and 4- the development of resources and tools for the inclusion of trans and non-binary women in violence against women services in Ontario. With the supplement funds and 12-month extension granted at the beginning of 2026, the Action ontarienne contre la violence faite aux femmes will carry out 1) activities aimed at strengthening the skills of boards of directors and executive management, 2) improvements to program evaluation capacities, and 3) the development of potential models for pooling services within its network to strengthen collaboration. By doing so, the organization will contribute further to the advancement of gender equality.
