Published purpose
Through this 33-month systemic change project, ReelWorld Screen Institute will help advance the representation of women in leadership and decision-making roles within the Canadian screen industry through systemic change. Specifically, the project will address systemic barriers and the underrepresentation of Black, Indigenous, and Women of Colour, in leadership and decisions-making roles within the Canadian screen industry. Inclusive committees will be established within industry associations and unions. These committees will be comprised of diverse women, including Indigenous, women living with disabilities, members of 2SLGBTQI+ communities, newcomer women, Black, racialized, and migrant women who will share their insights, feedback, and diverse experiences to help shape the project. ReelWorld will utilize engagement strategies and outreach efforts designed to resonate with women of colour. An external evaluator will measure and assess the impact of this systemic change project throughout the duration.
