Published purpose

Through this 30-month project, The United African Canadian Women Association (UACWA) will strengthen its capacity to advance gender equality. It will address UACWA's capacity and enable it to continue to build a strong, sustainable structure and network. The project will include the development of a comprehensive 5-year strategic plan, through board leadership development and the development of meaningful partnerships. With the supplemental funds and extension provided in early 2026, the UACWA will activate and embed a new governance framework and policies across all programs and deliver new targeted board leadership training on governance and policy activation and best practices. They will also strengthen capacity by building, expanding, and sustaining strategic and collaborative partnerships to reduce service gaps and duplication, and ensure that UACWA’s programs and services remain responsive to the evolving needs of the community. Through this they will further advance Gender Equality.
