Published purpose

Through this 30-month project, Solidarité des femmes et familles interconnectées francophones du Niagara (SOFIFRAN) will build its capacity to advance gender equality. It will address emerging issues facing francophone immigrant women in the Niagara region. The project will include research, an external assessment and community consultations to better understand the issues faced by French-speaking immigrant women in the region, and to identify priority actions to address them using a Gender Base Analysis Plus (GBA+) approach. The project will also include the development of a strategic plan, partnerships and training for the SOFIFRAN team in mental health, digital tools and computer software. An evaluation will be carried out to measure the results of the project. With the Supplemental funds and extension provided in early 2026, SOFIFRAN will carry out the full implementation of an integrated organizational governance system, a structural digital transformation including a data management system and a strategic communication plan, as well as the consolidation of a financial viability plan and a monitoring and evaluation framework. Through this they will further advance Gender Equality.
