Published purpose
Through this 13-month project, YWCA Halifax will further elaborate on existing promising practices to advance knowledge and supports for at-risk populations and survivors of human trafficking in Nova Scotia. This will be achieved by building on past and existing initiatives, such as the work led by the Trafficking and Exploitation Services System (TESS), to meet community needs when identifying and responding to cases of human trafficking and sexual exploitation. Key activities include developing a work plan and evaluation framework that align with existing programs and provincial initiatives, developing and delivering training on topics identified as by the TESS community, translating key resources into French, launching a public awareness campaign, and advocating for a provincial declaration relating to human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation of children and youth.
