Published purpose
The objective of the project is to assist with custom farming operations such as cultivating, planting crops, spraying, fertilizer application, harvesting, manure spreading etc. for other farmers so they do not need to invest in a complete line of expensive farm equipment for their operation. In addition, they run their own farming operation on owned and rented land. They operate a grain elevator and run a lystegro operation for disposing of human waste which has been converted to fertilizer. The Intern will be trained on the safe and proper operation of large scale farming equipment. This equipment would include tractors, sprayers and fertilizer spreaders. Standard equipment maintenance and pre-trip greasing will be completed. Employee will be responsible for calculating correct amount of product required, identifying the correct field and carefully applying the product. Paperwork must be completed for each field and ongoing communication with the supervisor is important.
