Published purpose

This project aims to enhance the protection, well-being and empowerment of vulnerable children, particularly girls, affected by armed conflict in northern Mozambique. Project activities include: (1) preventing recruitment and use of children by armed forces and groups by identifying vulnerable children, providing alternatives, engaging communities in dialogues, and advocating for implementing key child protection policies; (2) reintegrating children associated to armed forces and groups (CAAFAG) into their communities through safe release, access to gender-responsive services and psychosocial support, and durable, family-based solutions; and (3) promoting gender equality and empowerment by enhancing children’s access to gender-responsive care, services and programs tailored to their specific needs. The project aims also to build the capacity of support service providers and the resilience of communities most vulnerable to armed groups in northern Mozambique.
