Published purpose

This project aims to improve aid effectiveness in Sri Lanka and support the achievement of Sustainable development goals (SDGs) in the country. It provides support to the Development partners secretariat, administered through the United Nations office for project services (UNOPS), to increase donor collaboration, coherence and policy dialogue in Sri Lanka. The Development partners secretariat is a mechanism for information sharing and enhanced coordination towards improved aid effectiveness, operating in accordance with Sri Lanka’s United Nations Sustainable development cooperation framework (UNSDCF) 2023 to 2027. Project activities include: (1) sharing information and analysis among development partners on key development issues in Sri Lanka, including gender equality; (2) providing effective organisational support to the development partners strategic group, forum, and bilateral donor group; and (3) enhancing interaction with the government of Sri Lanka, particularly the ministry of finance, planning and economic development, and its external resource department and national planning department as the primary interlocutors on international assistance to Sri Lanka.
