Published purpose
This project provides the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) with funding to remove 32 high activity disused sealed radioactive sources (DSRS) in six countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. The devices containing the DSRS are in temporary storage without a long-term life-cycle management strategy, resulting in security concerns if the material falls out of regulatory control.
