Published purpose
This project seeks to foster sustainable peace and resilience in the reintegration process of ex-associated to terrorists and violent extremism groups into host communities. This initiative aims to support stakeholders ongoing efforts by strengthening community cohesion, enhancing local governance and institutional capacities, while promoting gender equality and human rights, and encouraging regional cooperation with borders countries. Project activities include: (1) supporting women-led organizations to enhance peacebuilding and reintegration processes; (2) strengthening government capacities for profiling and assessment of the screening of ex-associates in a gender-sensitive manner; (3) implementing community response mechanisms to support socioeconomic reintegration; (4) providing psychosocial support to survivors of violent extremism groups; and (5) delivering technical training to Nigerian and Cameroonian border security agencies to improve regional cooperation.
