Published purpose

The objective of this project is that funding will support functioning of the Group on Earth Observations Global Agricultural Monitoring (GEOGLAM) office and international capacity building under JECAM. By building upon these investments, this project will promote the leadership of AAFC in global agricultural monitoring research; strengthen the implementation of the GEOGLAM system for global crop monitoring to support stable commodity markets and food security early warning; establish a set of Essential Agricultural Variables (EAV’s) to guide the generation of quantified agricultural metrics to support SDGs and climate change mitigation and adaptation; support best practices and capacity development; and, lead to an operationalized capacity to enable relevant, detailed, near real time information for enhanced decision making and delivery of policy and programs.
