Published purpose
The Biological Preparedness and Resilience through Evolution and Innovation of Laboratories (BioPREVAIL) aims to generate innovative solutions for diagnostic biological containment laboratories to be operated in low-resource environments. As a culmination of more than a decade of research, analysis, consultation, and engagement, it seeks to meaningfully and sustainably strengthen global health security and counter bioweapons and bioterrorism threats. The goal of this ambitious initiative is to reimagine laboratory infrastructure to reduce ongoing operational costs and ensure safe and secure handling of high consequence pathogens, while maintaining core lab functions.
