Published purpose

With Canada's support, the UN Peacebuilding Fund (PBF) enables national actors to manage conflicts more peacefully and foster just and inclusive societies by providing fast, flexible and catalytic funding to nationally owned, multi-dimensional and sectoral peacebuilding initiatives. Project activities include: (1) investing in cross-border and transition contexts, and in support of more inclusion of women and youth; (2) supporting national actors to strengthen, implement, or develop conflict prevention strategies; (3) providing liaison and advisory services and surge capacity to UN field teams to facilitate innovative collaboration with International Financial Institutions (IFIs) through the Partnership Facility; and (4) sharing knowledge from peacebuilders and partners at local and national level through the Impact Hub to enhance the ability of peacebuilders to make timely and evidence-informed decisions on peacebuilding programming and policy.
