Published purpose
This project aims to improve the well being and resilience of families in Suriname by increasing access to high quality, professional family counselling services. The project seeks to help ensure that families experiencing stress, conflict, or psychological challenges receive timely, effective support by training a cohort of counsellors in evidence based methods. Project activities include: (1) developing and validating a comprehensive, evidence based training curriculum and practical case studies for family counselling; (2) delivering training to 20 participants through interactive lectures, hands on practice, supervision sessions, and continuous feedback; and (3) establishing and supporting a local professional network of trained counsellors to facilitate collaboration, referrals, and ongoing knowledge exchange.
