Published purpose

This project aims to support the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM), the International Organization for Migration’s (IOM) primary data collection program. The DTM helps track and monitor displacement and population mobility, provide critical information to decision-makers and responders during humanitarian crises, and deepen understanding of population flows around the world. The project seeks to target various countries where DTM needs are most critical and where funding can have the greatest impact. This includes Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Myanmar, South Sudan, Ukraine, and Yemen. With GAC’s support, the IOMs DTM strengthens its capacity for comprehensive data collection and in-depth analysis on displacement. It does so by generating timely, reliable, and actionable information for decision-makers, enhancing the effectiveness of humanitarian planning and response. This project aims to contribute to saving lives, reducing suffering, and safeguarding human dignity in countries affected by crises by improving evidence-based prioritization of resources, particularly for donors.
