Published purpose
This project provides strategic and flexible support to key partners in food security, sustainable economic growth and security to implement the Accra Agenda for Action relating to aid effectiveness. The Accra Agenda for Action, endorsed on September 4, 2008 by donor nations, developing countries, and international development institutions, is a follow-up to the 2005 Paris Declaration agreements on aid effectiveness.. The goal of this project is to accelerate progress toward the Millenium Development Goals in Guatemala through more effective use of aid resources. It works through the harmonization or aid effectiveness committees in Guatemala to support a complementary agenda of strategic actions that facilitate the transition to new aid architecture. This is achieved through targeted technical assistance, the development and dissemination of case studies, regional lesson-learning events, and skill development and training for government and civil society personnel.
