The project aims to sustainably develop irrigated agriculture in Mali to increase food security through increased agricultural production, mainly in the regions of Mopti and Koulikoro. Key activities are focusing on the construction and rehabilitation of productive infrastructure, such as irrigated fields, micro dams, warehouses and rural roads; coaching and training of agricultural producers to support increased productivity and the development of knowledge and tools; and protecting and improving the sustainable development of natural resources, specifically soil and water. The initiative is contributing to the implementation of the German small-scale irrigation program and supports the implementation of the National Small-Scale Irrigation Program in Mali.
