Published purpose
Over the past two years, the Department of Research and Innovation at Georgian College has collaborated with 13 industry partners to assess technology readiness and conduct feasibility studies that support early-stage innovation. Through these projects, the team has worked with partners to evaluate technical feasibility, refine concepts, and develop prototype pathways that move promising technologies closer to commercialization. This work has enabled industry partners to reduce the risk of innovation activities while providing students with meaningful applied research opportunities. Building on the success and strong demand for this support, R&I is eager to extend the initiative into the upcoming fiscal year. Continued funding will allow the department to support additional partners in advancing new technologies through early-stage validation, prototype development, and pre-commercialization analysis, further strengthening regional innovation capacity and industry collaboration.
