Published purpose
This project focuses on some of the most vulnerable communities in Kenya where there appears to be a large proportion of new converts engaged in violent activities. It seeks to work with local mentors, including religious leaders, popular or influential figures in sport and entertainment industries, journalists, and community leaders, to engage with youth at risk of being recruited and radicalized by violent extremist groups. Project activities include: (1) conducting community awareness and identification workshops; (2) conducting mentor and mentee trainings and meetings; and (3) engaging in research and data collection.
