Published purpose
This project aims to promote the adoption and implementation of the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention (BTWC) and United Nations Security Council Resolution 1540 (UNSCR 1540) in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and Central America. The project activities include: (1) organizing a workshop to engage national parliamentarians from Guinea-Bissau, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Mozambique; (2) organizing a two-day workshop in Tanzania to engage English- and French-speaking parliamentarians; (3) organizing a two-day workshop in Guinea-Bissau to engage Portuguese-speaking parliamentarians; (4) organizing a two-day workshop in Trinidad and Tobago to engage parliamentarians from Caribbean stakeholder countries; (5) and conducting a field mission in Maputo, Mozambique, to engage parliamentarians from Angola, Cape Verde, and Guinea-Bissau.
