Published purpose

The Technical Assistance Partnership - Expert Deployment Mechanism (TAP-EDM) project aims to improve the well-being of the poorest, most marginalized and vulnerable people, by contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals. The project executes FIAP-aligned expert deployments in countries eligible to Official Development Assistance (ODA), including countries in fragile and conflict-affected situations. The project also works to draw experts from all spheres of Canadian society, such as academia, private sector, civil society, and public sector, with the exception of the Government of Canada. Project activities include: (1) providing in person and/or on location and other combinations of distance education/e-learning strategies, such as training, seminars, and workshops, to deliver professional accompaniment/mentoring, advisory support, policy research, institutional audit, and capacity development plans; (2) organizing technical visits and/or study tours to Canada; and (3) organizing communications and public engagement activities aimed at Canadians from various regions, and diverse identities. The project expects to support approximately 30 to 35 technical assistance (TA) initiatives per year.
