Published purpose
This project aims to improve the frontline capacity of relevant Pakistani authorities to undertake systematic profiling and inspection of high-risk containers to reduce the flow of illicit goods imported and exported to Pakistan and Canada, with minimum disruption to legitimate trade. Project activities include: (1) delivering refresher courses on theoretical and practical training for Port Control Units (PCUs) and Air Cargo Control Units (ACCUs); (2) providing professional development training for selected women officers from PCUs and ACCUs; (3) developing formal engagements with senior management of counterparts to promote inter-agency cooperation and information (intelligence) exchange among various PCUs and ACCUs member agencies; and (4) replacing PCUs and ACCUs office equipment, furniture, protection tools and inspection equipment.
