Published purpose

This project aims to support the development of effective national regulatory frameworks and related measures for preventing illicit trafficking of nuclear or radiological materials in Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay. Project activities include: (1) organizing and delivering a series of regional workshops to subject matter experts and stakeholders in these countries to identify national requirements and actions for developing effective nuclear security detection architectures; (2) installing and commissioning radiation detection equipment at five locations in Cuba; and (3) delivering related operational and maintenance training to Cuban personnel.
