Published purpose
This project seeks to make an effective contribution to sustainable peace by preventing and resolving conflicts that affect girls and women, mainly in Cameroon, but also on a smaller scale in the Central African Republic. The purpose of this project is to build the capacities of girls and women human rights advocates in their roles as effective leaders and actors in peace and security matters. These new capacities will ensure their effective participation in peacebuilding, national reconciliation and the search for solutions to ensure their protection. Project activities include: (1) providing training on individual protection; (2) producing a manual on protecting girls and women; (3) arranging inter-community peace dialogues; (4) building capacity to engage communities in implementing peace and reconciliation mechanisms; and (5) raising state actors’ awareness of the peace and reconciliation process and setting up peace clubs.
