Published purpose

This project supports the Joint Programme of the United Nations Development Programme and United Nations Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, which deploys Peace and Development Advisors. These advisors help United Nations (UN) agencies, national authorities and other peace and conflict stakeholders prevent and resolve conflict and build peace. Project activities include: (1) developing or improving national, regional or sub-regional prevention strategies, plans and institutions for peace; (2) enhancing opportunities for women and youth to engage in and influence conflict prevention and peacebuilding efforts; (3) providing analytical and advisory services, and developing programming, for UN agencies and engagement; and (4) facilitating collaboration and coherence among UN entities and global partnerships with peace and conflict stakeholders, including with international financial institutions.
