Published purpose

• Incorporating sex and gender into health research makes for better science that is more rigorous and more applicable to the needs of everybody. The Institute of Gender and Health (IGH) will provide funding for applications to the following research priority areas: o Integration: Applications that clearly articulate how sex and/or gender will be integrated into research designs and approaches (e.g., designs that test hypotheses related to the effects of sex and/or gender; studies focused on similarities and differences within or between groups of women, girls, men, boys or gender-diverse people, studies that explicitly use male and/or female animal/tissue or cell models to explore sex-based mechanisms). o Innovation: Applications that foster innovative approaches to sex, gender and health research (e.g., applications that develop, assess and/or enhance theories and conceptual frameworks that underpin research or that contribute to methods and measurement tools).
