• The CIHR HIV/AIDS Research Initiative, which is responsible for the management and oversight of the research components of the Federal Initiative to Address HIV/AIDS in Canada, will provide funding for applications that have a primary focus on HIV/AIDS and/or other sexually-transmitted and blood-borne infections (STBBIs) across all CIHR Research Themes (i.e., biomedical research, clinical research, health services research and social, cultural, environmental and population health research). • Research that focuses on key populations identified by the Federal Initiative to Address HIV/AIDS in Canada is highly encouraged.
