Published purpose

This project aims to support the Women's Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF)'s Rapid Response Window on Women’s Participation in Peace Processes and the Implementation of Peace Agreements (RRW). This is a funding mechanism that supports urgent, short-term, and strategic initiatives led by women peacebuilders aiming to increase women’s participation and influence in formal peace processes and the implementation of peace agreements. Project activities include: (1) expanding RRW interventions in the Sahel and Horn of Africa (Senegal, Chad, Burkina Faso, and Eritrea), Latin America (El Salvador and Guatemala) and Asia (Armenia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Myanmar and Papua New Guinea), and piloting an initiative on youth engagement in formal peace processes; (2) enhancing partnerships and collaboration, through events such as Geneva Peace Week, and the Open Debate on WPS in NY; and (3) increasing advocacy and visibility through different media, including the development of a women peacebuilders podcast and dissemination of results and key trends on women’s participation in peace processes.
