Published purpose

• CIHR and other funding agencies have invested heavily in the establishment of cohorts, databases, cohort catalogues, and data platforms. As a result, many high-quality data sets exist that contain a wealth of information and have the potential to answer research questions that go beyond those for which the data were originally collected or for which the data has been used to date. • The CIHR Institute of Cancer Research (CIHR-ICR) will provide funding for applications or parts of applications that use data from the following: the Canadian partnership for Tomorrow’s Health OR the Canadian Urban Environmental Health Research Consortium (CANUE) and are relevant to CIHR-ICR’s mandate to support research that reduces the burden of cancer on individuals and families through prevention strategies, screening, diagnosis, effective treatments, psycho-social support systems, and palliation.
