The Centre for Research on Pandemic Preparedness and Health Emergencies (CRPPHE) will offer funding to support at least one application that has a primary research objective related to preventing, preparing for, responding to, or recovering from existing and future pandemics and other health emergencies. *For the purpose of this Priority Announcement, a health emergency is defined as: A present or imminent event or phenomenon, of a temporary, acute nature, with actual or potential significant negative impacts on human health, resulting in a serious disruption of the functioning of a community; and/or the declaration of a state of emergency by a municipal, provincial/territorial, federal and/or Indigenous government, or international organization with a health research mandate, and that requires prompt research action to protect and strengthen human health
