Published purpose

Incorporating sex and gender into health research and approaching sex and gender research through an intersectional lens which recognizes the impacts of racism on health, makes for better science that is more rigorous and more applicable to the needs of everybody. The CIHR Institute of Gender and Health (CIHR-IGH) will provide funding for applications that are relevant to its mandate AND that consider how racism and racial inequities intersect with sex and/or gender. • The CIHR-IGH mandate is to foster research excellence regarding the influence of sex and gender on health and to apply these findings to identify and address pressing health challenges facing men, women, girls, boys and gender-diverse people.
