This prize was established in 2010 to honour the outstanding work of Dr. Bhagirath Singh, inaugural Scientific Director of the CIHR Institute of Infection and Immunity (CIHR-III). To recognize the excellence of health research being done in Canada, a prize of $25,000 will be awarded annually to the two highly ranked early career researchers in the field of infection and immunity in the Spring and Fall 2024 Project Grant competitions, considering gender diversity. This prize is a supplemental grant to support research, and must used according to the CIHR Application Administration Guide. The prize is not a personal award and is non-renewable.
