The CIHR Institute for Population and Public Health (CIHR-IPPH) will fund applications that are relevant to their mandate, relevant to CIHR’s definition of population health research (pillar 4 research), focused on meaningfully improving health equity* and aligned with one or more of the following IPPH strategic research areas: • Healthy Cities: applications aligned with CIHR's Healthy Cities Research Initiative (HCRI) and focused on population health intervention research and/or implementation science as it relates to urban environments. • Public Health Systems: applications that identify and/or address key public health systems research priorities in Canada. • Moving Upstream: applications with a primary focus on interdisciplinary research into the structural determinants of health to meaningfully address the root causes and systems that create health inequities in Canada and globally.
