Published purpose

This project entitled ""Autonomous Navigation & Mapping (ANIMA)"" has the objective to develop and validate an innovative navigation and mapping technology to be integrated onboard exploration rover systems. This technological product aims at solving a problem that is often encountered in space and also in many terrestrial applications: to enable the navigation, the mapping and the localization of mobile vehicle systems operating in unknown or poorly known environments where Global Positioning System (GPS) or other absolute navigation infrastructure are not reliable or even available.
