Published purpose

The Research component of the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) Class Grant and Contribution Program to support Research, Awareness and Learning in Space Science and Technology provides financial support to organizations to conduct space related research and development in priority areas. It will support targeted knowledge development and innovation to sustain and enhance the Canadian capacity to use space to address national needs and priorities in the future. More specifically, this project entitled "" Q7 "" has the objective (s): The primary objective of the project is to create a disruptive technology as the next evolution to Xiphos' Q-card family. At the heart of the new Q7 Q-Card will be a new type of computing device, known as an Extensible Processing Platform (EPP) or All-Programmable System-on-Chip (AP SoC). These devices are typically multi-core CPUs supported by massive programmable logic resources and a wide array of hardware interfaces. This forward-looking project will establish the feasibility of the Q7 product through a rigorous process of breadboard technology validation and preliminary design, resulting in a TRL4 status.
