Published purpose

The project « Root & STEM Special Edition: To the Moon and Back » aims to create the 5th edition of « Root & STEM » magazine and podcast on the space exploration subject. The educator resources will highlight diverse stories and voices on the theme “To the Moon and Back,” and feature diverse voices from the Canadian Space Agency, Indigenous Elders and knowledge keepers from different Nations speaking of star stories and the Moon calendar, a student-focused comic on the Moon and more! A 3-D game rendering of the Moon will be developed by the Pinnguaq Studio talent to accompany the magazine and podcast for student learning. Root & STEM is a free, Canadian, print and online STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) resource to support K–12 educators in teaching digital skills. Each issue features articles, activities, and lesson plans with a specific focus on STEAM education through creativity. The Root & STEM educator podcast brings magazine contributors' voices to all podcast platforms to ensure learners can access resources without barriers.
