Published purpose
Following the JWST ERS and Cycle 2 GO Announcement of Opportunity published on July 6, 2023, the CSA is providing funding via a Grant Agreement to the university to conduct their research using the JWST data. This program will analyze the observation of one transit of the cloud-free hot-Jupiter WASP-96b with NIRSpec/G395H to determine its atmosphere composition, and the effects of dynamics-induced chemistry. Because WASP-96b is cloudless, it is a prime target to study these effects. It has long been recognized that the atmosphere composition of hot-Jupiters can inform us about their formation and migration processes. These observations will provide some of the tightest-yet constraints on the formation history of an exoplanet.
